DeJuan was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Ross Hill Academy in 2010 he went to Spring Arbor University, where he majored in Communications and Media. During undergrad, he also studied Pastoral Ministry and is currently serving as a youth leader for Faith Redemption Center. Art has been a major part of his life since childhood and he has dedicated the past 15 years to using art to bring to life the pain and beauty of his reality through various platforms. After his graduation in May of 2015, he sought a job that would give that same sense of fulfillment and came across organizing during the Race and Power Summit co-sponsored by MOSES held in Detroit.
